Basics of Numerology
Mathematics is considered as the base of Astrology. The result of Numerological calculations is more or less same as compared to results derived from Astrology. Numerology is considered as the simplest of all the occult sciences to understand and to practice. Numerology is considered a part of Astrology and a subject under Occult Science. Numerology is the study of understanding a divine relationship between numerical values of letters in a word or a name. The basic theory of Numerology says “Everything in this universe is driven by Numbers and their vibrations”. Every number has its unique energies. Not only numbers, even alphabets play an important role in Numerology. Numerology may be termed as “The Divine language of Numbers & Alphabets”. Numerology is an in-depth study to decode the meaning of numbers and alphabets related to a person’s life.
After the collection and proper analysis of an individual’s numerical data (s) he can understand the qualities which (s) he inherits and can move ahead in life. The word “Numerology” is supposed to have emerged from the Latin word ‘Numerus’ which means numbers and Greek word ‘logos’ which means word, thoughts and expressions. The history of numbers is as old as history of human beings. The study of numerology provides you the keys to better understand your potentials, talents, destiny, strengths and weaknesses, emotional reactions and ways to deal with others such as family, friends, employers and employees and even lovers. The study of numerology helps in improving our lives by increasing the vibrational forces of our personalities and lessens the intensity of our difficulties and obstructions. Now the question arise that “How Numerology works”. The answer is very simple that, Numerology has a correlation between a person’s date of birth & person’s name with the person’s nature. Beginners may find Numerology as somewhat complicated as there are many methods to practice Numerology worldwide.
Some of the earliest records of Numerology appeared around 6000 years ago in ancient Egypt, Babylon, China, Rome, Japan & Greece. The people of southern part of Mesopotamia were called as Chaldeans. As per the earliest records these Chaldeans were the first people who related Numbers with the events occurred in their lives. The higher study of the subject by their scholars became popular as Chaldean method of Numerology. However Greek philosopher Pythagoras due to his immense work in Numerology came to be
known as “The Father of Numerology”. Pythagoras did not invent Numerology but, his theories took it to a very different level. Pythagoras even travelled Egypt to study Chaldean Numerology for 22 years approximately. Chaldean system of Numerology is older but the Pythagorean system is very much popular in the western countries. In India the practice of Chaldean method is much popular than the western countries. The study of Numerology will accelerate your present, balance & brighten your future and make you successful in your life.
The study of numerology is the study of the symbolism of numbers. Each number represents one large area of human awareness and experience; all the numbers together cover all possible awarenesses, experiences, talents and characteristics. Only the single digits-I, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9-and the Master Numbers 11 and 22 are used. The Master numbers, the only numbers not reduced to a single digit, represent a special higher level of potential than the other numbers. There are only nine numbers from which all calculations are made. All numbers beyond 9 are repetitions. By a simple method of addition, they can be reduced to single whole numbers. The number 10 is not a whole number; it is simply a 1 with a zero. The myriad characteristics and importance of all the numbers are appended as under:
Zero (0)
Zero is not a number and has no numerological value. In the Western occult tradition, zero is regarded as a symbol of eternity. It is surprising to learn that the zero made its first entrance into the Western hemisphere only a few hundred years ago. Its introduction helped considerably in the development of mathematics, science, and modern technology. In the East, where it was known from the dawn of civilization, the zero is known as Sunya (shoonya) or the Void, which is the foundation stone of Buddhism. Zero has no value when it is alone, because it is abstract and numbers are concrete. When zero combines with a number, it gives birth to arithmetical progressions and the series of double, triple, and multiple numbers, such as 10, 100, and 1000. When you do not know about zero, you cannot play with numbers beyond 9 (that is, beyond the material world). When you do know about it, its mystic nature leads you towards eternity and impairs your material progress. Zero is considered unfortunate. When a zero appears in a date of birth, it brings misfortune. Even the tenth month of the year (October), being a 10, brings
misfortune, although to a lesser degree. The appearance of a zero in the year of birth brings the least misfortune. The combination of zero with any number reduces the influence of that number. People with a zero in their birthdate numbers generally have to struggle harder than those without. The presence of more than one zero—October (tenth month) 10, 1950—makes one have to work even more in life. All numbers from 1 to 9 are present in zero, and when zero combines with these numbers, a whole series of numbers evolves. For example, when zero combines with number 1, the numbers 11 through 19 that belong to that series evolve. 1 The introduction of zero aided the development of math, science, and the modern technology that brought mankind to the computer age, but it does not “exist.”
In numerology, zero holds a unique and important significance. While it is not a traditional number in the sense of having a numerical value, it carries symbolic and philosophical meanings. Here are some aspects of the significance of zero in numerology:
- Potential and Possibilities: Zero is often associated with infinite potential and limitless possibilities. It represents the vastness of the unmanifested or the void from which everything emerges.
- Wholeness and Unity: In some numerological interpretations, zero is seen as a symbol of wholeness and unity. It is considered a point of origin, encompassing all that is, was, and will be.
- Eternity and Timelessness: Zero can symbolize eternity and timelessness. It is not bound by the constraints of time or space and is seen as a transcendent state.
- Cycles and Continuity: Zero is often associated with cycles and continuity. In some systems, it represents the cyclical nature of existence, where endings lead to new beginnings in an eternal loop.
- Potential for Transformation: Zero can signify the potential for transformation and rebirth. It is a symbol of the void or the womb of creation from which new possibilities can emerge.
- Emptiness and Fullness: Zero represents a state of emptiness that is simultaneously full of potential. It embodies the idea that within apparent nothingness, there exists the potential for everything.
- Spiritual Enlightenment: In spiritual and mystical traditions, zero is sometimes associated with a state of spiritual enlightenment or the realization of the interconnectedness of all things.
- Placeholder and Decimal System: In a practical sense, zero serves as a placeholder in the decimal system, allowing for the representation of larger numbers. It plays a crucial role in mathematical and numerical systems.
- Non-Duality: Zero can be seen as a symbol of non-duality, where distinctions between self and other, or existence and non-existence, dissolve. It represents a state beyond dualistic thinking.
It’s important to note that the significance of zero in numerology is often subjective and can vary across different traditions and belief systems. Numerology is a metaphysical and symbolic system, and interpretations may depend on personal or cultural perspectives. While zero is not assigned a numerical value in many numerological calculations, its symbolic importance contributes to the overall depth of meaning in numerology.
Odd and Even Number
Numbers can be categorized into two basic groups: Odd: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and Even: 2, 4, 6, 8.
Odd numbers have an odd total; there are five of them. Even numbers have an even total (four). Odd numbers are solar, masculine, electrical, acidic, and dynamic. They are additional (they add).
Even numbers are lunar, feminine, magnetic, alkaline, and static. They are subtractional (they reduce). They remain without movement, because they have an even group of pairs (2 and 4, 6 and 8). If we pair odd numbers, one number always remains without a counterpart (1 and 3, 5 and 7, 9). This makes them dynamic. In general, two similar numbers (two odd numbers or two even) are not very good.
even + even = even (static)
2 + 2 = 4
odd + even = odd (dynamic)
3 + 2 = 5
odd + odd = even (static) 3 + 3 = 6
Some numbers are friendly; some are in opposition to each other. Their relationships are determined by the relationships between their ruling planets (see chart on pages 188-189). When two friendly numbers come together, they are not very productive. Like two friends, they both relax and nothing happens. But when enemy numbers come in combination, they make each other alert and active; both people have to work more. Seen in this way, enemy numbers are actually friends, and friendly numbers are really enemies that stop progress and activity. Neutral numbers remain inactive. They do not give any support nor do they induce or oppose activity.
In numerology and occult sciences, odd and even numbers often carry symbolic significance, and their interpretation may vary based on different belief systems. Here are some general associations with odd and even numbers:
Odd Numbers
Unity and Wholeness: In many spiritual traditions, odd numbers are often associated with unity and wholeness. They are seen as indivisible and representing a sense of completeness.
Masculine Energy: Odd numbers are sometimes considered masculine in nature. They are associated with active, dynamic, and assertive qualities.
Initiation and Movement: Odd numbers are linked to the concept of initiation and movement. They are seen as propelling forces, initiating change and progression.
Spiritual Significance: Some belief systems attribute spiritual or sacred qualities to odd numbers, associating them with divine or cosmic forces.
Even Numbers
Duality and Balance: Even numbers are often associated with duality and balance. They represent pairs, opposites, and the balancing of energies.
Feminine Energy: Even numbers may be considered feminine in nature. They are associated with receptive, nurturing, and stabilizing qualities.
Stability and Grounding: Even numbers are linked to stability and grounding. They are seen as providing a foundation and structure to various aspects of life.
Harmony and Resolution: Even numbers are thought to bring harmony and resolution. They represent the coming together of complementary forces.
Numerology and Odd/Even Numbers
In numerology, odd and even numbers can play a role in the interpretation of various aspects of a person’s life, including their personality traits, strengths, and challenges. For example:
Life Path Number: The Life Path Number, a key component in numerology calculations, may be influenced by the presence of odd or even numbers. Odd Life Path Numbers are associated with qualities like independence and uniqueness, while even Life Path Numbers may suggest a need for balance and partnership.
Expression Number: The Expression Number, derived from a person’s name, can also incorporate odd and even numbers in its interpretation. The presence of specific numbers may be seen as influencing the individual’s expression of talents and abilities.
It’s important to note that interpretations of numbers in numerology and occult sciences can vary, and these associations are not universally agreed upon. People interested in these practices often find personal meaning in the symbolism of odd and even numbers based on their cultural background, beliefs, and intuition. Numerology is considered a form of metaphysics and does not have a scientific basis. Individuals exploring numerology should do so with an open mind and a recognition of its subjective and symbolic nature.
Psychic (Moolank) / Driver Number

Now birthday is on 21,
2 + 1=3
3 is the Psychic number here.
(ii) We have a person born on 10/11/1997. Here 10 is the Birth date 11 is the Birth month & 1997 is the Birth year. As there are two digits in the date we have to bring it to a single digit number except if the total comes to 11, 22 & 33 as they are master numbers.
Follow the method as shown below. 10 = 1 + 0=1 = Moolank/ Psychic Number, So 1 will be the Psychic number or birth number or Moolank or Driver number.
Here are some basic characteristics of Psychic numbers given in short.

Method for calculating of Life Path number
To calculate the Life Path number follow example as given below. For ex. A person Dinesh Jain having his birth date 12 – 11 – 1985.
To calculate Life path number we have to add full date of birth (date+month+year) and bring it down to a single digit number except if the total comes to 11, 22 & 33 as they are master numbers.
In this case total of date of birth is 1+2+1+1+1+9+8+5=28 We will further reduce it as 2 + 8 = 10 = 1+0=1 here life path number is 1. If 11, 22 and 33 is a sum of numbers we will not go further to make it a single digit number.
Now we will have a quick overview of the representation of each Life path numbers.
